The scene is made up of a widespread of colors and elements. The chair, strings, and puppet were covered in the "royal color, gold". Kermet's thrown was covered in velvet, making him feel like a super king. However, the dark colored background gave me the vision, that darkness was sneaking up behind him, and something bad was going to happen.
The prince had royalty in his blood. Just like his father, he step onto the throne by killing everyone in the royal hiearchy. It was a situation when his only way of survival was to kill. At first he used all of his power to get the things that he wanted when he was just a regular, low life puppet. Kermet abused his power, and he wouldn't let anyone take anything away from him. At a point he was seeing the end of the bridge. He was so sick of all the nonsense, that you could see the grey and white stress follicles pointing out of his head like he was an aging porkipine. Kermet then realized that being a king with all the power wasn't really worth it.
