Act lll

An hour later on the moving day, there is still a lot of tension in the apartment. The stage directions also make it feel as if there is greyish lighting. Walter Lee is by himself, sitting at the table reflecting on his actions. Asagai comes over to the apartment to help pack, and Beneatha is talking about how she doesn't want to be a doctor anymore because she feels that she can't help people anymore. She also talks about how she has no desire to fight for independence from French and English colonizers. When she says this Asagai confronts her on her lack of idealism and obsession with money from Walter Sr’s death. He then talks about how he wants to go back to Africa to bring “positive changes” When he says this Beneatha gets excited and Asaigai offers Beneatha to come with him to Africa. He says that it will feel as if she had only been one for a day. Then he leaves and lets her think about the proposition. Mama comes home and says that they are not moving an...

Review Mama Mia

This past Sunday, I attended the school musical, Mama Mia , at 2:30 in the Black Box Theater in the field house. The main characters in this musical were Sophie, Donna, Sam, Sky, Bill, Harry, Rosie, and Tanya. Donna, who was Sophie's mom, had sexual intercourse with three men, Harry, Sam, and Bill. Sophie is now 20 years old and she is getting ready to get married to Sky, however, she wants to find an enclosure on who her real father is. Sophie then invites all three of the men to the wedding without Donna knowing. When Donna finds out that the men are here she freaks out.  The main plot of the musical was that Sophie got caught up in her own lie when she accepted Bill, Harry, and Sam's proposal to walk her down the aisle as her "father". Sophie was so worked up with all of this nonsense that she started to not care about who her father was anymore. She then had her mom walk her down the aisle, which followed with Sophie calling the wedding off because of how young S...
