Christopher is lied to by Ed, his father that his mother has passed away due to a heart attack. There is also the main scene about a dog that was killed by a pitchfork. Ed was the person who killed the dog, too. Christopher then wants to move in with his mother, Judy, who is alive and lives in London. He thinks his father is a monster so he wants to leave. IB Lit & Performance Notes : - Ed is really trying to get Christopher to like him again. - He kind of bribes Christopher with a golden retriever, however, you can tell that Ed really wants to make things right between Christopher and him. - Siobhan plays a very big role in this play. Also in Christopher's life. - We find out that Christopher gets an A on his test. - I also get the feeling that Christopher is a very passionate and smart young man. He has done so many things recently that makes him feel like he could do anything. - I also realized that Christopher is getting tired of his town and where he lives.  He wants to explore the world, and he will do anything to make that happen. - He brings up the small room and bed set lot. He wishes he had a bigger one. He can't even bring his dog with his mom because of how small it is. 

Pages 4-6 -  Siobhan did some weird jobs with a Swiss Army knife. - Because Siobhan does not understand that there are different meanings for facial expressions in different cultures, he finds other people confusing. Pages 12-15 - Christopher’s mom is in the hospital and he can’t visit her - He loves finding new things to do so he wanted to find out who killed the dog. He wants to make it a project. - Christopher is told that his mother has passed away due to a heart attack. since he has autism and finds things very literal, he kept asking what type of heart attack killed her.  - He goes to Mrs. Shear's house to find out who killed the dog and she tells him to leave or she’ll call the cops.  Pages 42-44 - Christopher reads a letter from his mom talking about how she was a bad mom. - We then find out that his mother did not want to put up with the fact that he had autism. The actors are bringing the poem from paper to real life. However, the way that the poem is performed made you feel the poem more. For example, there is a part of the performance when the actor representing the white person, tells the actor representing the "darker brother", to go eat in the kitchen. Daylin responds by saying "NO!". The tone of his voice made me feel the pain the author felt when he wrote the poem. However, it also made me feel the confidence and courage the author had to rise up and not be pushed around anymore. The performance didn't make me think differently from the original poem. What you're doing & why ? My group will be sitting at a table, talking. someone will approach the table (as a white man), and someone that is already sitting at the table (the black man) will get up. The man that got up will proceed with presenting the poem. The tone of the performance will have a sense of hope. After the person says, "They'll see how beautiful I am", the man will sit down and everyone at the table will start talking. As like 5-7 seconds go by, we will all say, " I too, am America". we will say that with our fists up, as a representation of black power and unity. What aspects of the poem will you highlight in your performance? We will basically highlight the whole poem, however, we will change the tone a little bit. We will basically act as we have faith that everything will be alright.

Jonathan Velasquez  IB Lit & Performance Ms. Guarino Due: October 25, 2019 The Red Wheelbarrow Analysis  The Red Wheelbarrow is a poem written by William Carlos Williams. The poem originated from a book called Spring of All , which came out in 1923. My first impression of the poem was very confusing. I had just briefly read the poem, so it didn’t make much sense to me. Even though I found the poem confusing, I was interested in what it really meant because the way the poet visualized what he or she saw of the red wheelbarrow. For example, when the poet said “ glazed with rain “, I could really visualize what the poet was seeing.   One thing I realized after reading the poem over and over again, going into more depth, was that from my perspective I think the poet is looking at the red wheelbarrow in a farm.
